UBB Overcoming Anger Course Graduation
What an incredible and meaningful day it was! It was truly special to witness the graduation of these determined men at the Memorial Unit. The ceremony began with a powerful reminder: graduation is proof that you can achieve your goals.
Bishop Taylor encouraged the men, emphasizing that when someone is genuinely dedicated to their objectives, success will follow. His words reinforced the message that they are capable of accomplishing anything they set their minds to.
The graduates were also reminded never to doubt themselves or say things like, “I can’t do it,” or “At least I tried.” This day stood as living proof of their commitment, discipline, and transformation.
A Time of Prayer and Reflection
After Bishop Taylor’s inspiring message, Bishop Bira Joshua led everyone in a heartfelt prayer. Following this, three graduates stepped forward to share their personal stories and explain how the UBB Overcoming Anger Course had made a significant difference in their lives.
One graduate shared that he learned that feeling anger is natural, but what truly matters is how you handle it. He realized that he should never let people or situations control his emotions and that it’s up to him to maintain control over his reactions.
Another graduate explained that the course helped him recognize his triggers—specific places, people, and situations that often ignited his anger.
The final speaker described how the course helped him identify the root of his anger, understand where it came from, and learn how to manage it.
He admitted that he often played the victim and blamed others for his actions. However, through the course, he learned to take responsibility, stay calm, and practice self-control.
He also discussed discovering the concept of the “Five Whys.” One question that truly changed his mindset was: “Why should I allow myself to be influenced by negativity?” This shift helped him transform negative thoughts into positive ones and completely change his outlook.
A Celebration of Achievement

After the speeches, the men proudly received their certificates, followed by a delicious meal served with joy and care by the UBB volunteers.
It was a beautiful day of celebration, reflection, and renewal—a reminder to keep pushing forward and becoming better every day.
Closing Words
Once again, the UBB congratulates all the graduates of the Memorial Unit for their remarkable achievement in completing the Overcoming Anger Course. Their success stands as a powerful example that change is possible with faith, commitment, and the will to grow.
