I Can’t Seem to Shake These Thoughts
On Earth, there are several battlefields. There is the battlefield where one fights in war, the battlefield in the hospital when facing an illness, the battlefield inside the house to save the family, and the list goes on. But the strongest battlefield known to man is the one we face daily: our minds.
None of us are invincible to these thoughts. They come to all of us, good and evil thoughts. However, what we need to do is take control of our minds.
Some battlefields in life we cannot control, and we have to face them as they come. However, our minds are the one battlefield we can control, although it may not be easy.
The word of God says, “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” Romans 12:2
Our mind is like our home. Think with me: would you allow simply anyone to walk into your home? Of course not. First, a person would want to know who is coming, how the person is, and if it would even be safe for them to enter.
Very well. Treat your mind like your home. You would not want anyone or anything visiting your home and disturbing your peace. In the same way, filter your mind and be attentive to what you allow to enter. Do not allow every word you hear to get to you or every thought that is not good to establish itself in your mind.
Instead, transfer your mind to what makes you happy, and above all, submit your mind to Godly things that He may help you. Your mind does not have to be your enemy.
